The Tony Cote Winter/Summer Games formerly known as the Saskatchewan First Nation Winter/Summer Games was initiated in 1974 by Chief Tony Cote and the Council of the Cote First Nation and their membership.

It is my pleasure to welcome all the athletes, coaches, guests, volunteers and sponsors to the 2019 First Nations Summer Games. I am proud to say that this is the second time Flying Dust First Nation has hosted the games in the last 16 years and once again our community and its members are honoured and grateful to participate in the development and achievement of Saskatchewan’s First Nation youth.

With the generous contributions from our numerous sponsors, volunteers and partners the community of Flying Dust intends on providing the best available facilities, venues and services to our young athletes as they compete at the games. In many ways there is no greater contribution that we can make than to help Saskatchewan’s First Nation youth to strive to be their best through fair and honest competition. Having hosted many events previously we know that success can only be achieved through the countless hours and sacrifices made by our volunteers. The relationship we share with the City of Meadow Lake and its residents has and continues to be invaluable and the success of the 2003 Games would not have been possible without their support. As we move toward the Games, I encourage anyone wishing to volunteer to do so, as the future of events of this magnitude depends on the many people working toward the same goal.
