The Tony Cote Winter/Summer Games formerly known as the Saskatchewan First Nation Winter/Summer Games was initiated in 1974 by Chief Tony Cote and the Council of the Cote First Nation and their membership.

The Tony Cote Winter Games ceremonies are as follows:Closing Ceremonies on Friday April 6 after the final hockey game at the Jemini arena at the Circle Drive Alliance Church located at 3035 Preston Avenue South. Awards to be given out for Sport and Overall Winner, Tony Cote Most Improved Team.

Brigette Lacquette (Defense – Canada’s National Women’s Team)
From: Mallard, Manitoba/ Cote First Nation, Saskatchewan
On Dec. 22, 2017, Lacquette was selected to represent Canada’s National Women’s Team at the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea.
Lacquette made her debut in Canada’s National Women’s Team Program in 2008 with Canada’s National Women’s Under-18 Team. She is a two-time participant at the IIHF U18 Women’s World Championship winning gold in 2010 and silver in 2009. As a member of Canada’s National Women’s Development Team she appeared in 21 games, winning gold at the Nations Cup in 2013 and 2016.
On the blueline, the 25-year-old from Mallard, Man., has worn the red-and-white in 34 games for Canada’s National Women’s Team. Lacquette is a two-time silver-medallist at the IIHF Women’s World Championship (2015, 2016) and won a gold-medal at the 2013 4 Nations Cup.
Lacquette played her NCAA career at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, and also won the Clarkson Cup with the CWHL’s Calgary Inferno in 2016.
